AXIS P1388 4K Indoor Box Camera with AI Analytics

The AXIS P1388 is an 8MP (4K, 3840x2160) indoor box camera with a 1/1.8″ sensor, a wide 3.9–10 mm lens and the AXIS T91B21 Stand Black included. Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR deliver true color and detail across large, unevenly lit spaces, the ARTPEC-8 deep learning processing unit runs AXIS Object Analytics, and Axis Edge Vault protects the device. The CS-mount lens with P-Iris is exchangeable, and AXIS designed the camera to fit into an outdoor housing when needed.

4K Detail Across Wide Spaces

The 1/1.8″ sensor with 2.0 μm pixels streams 3840x2160, and the 3.9–10 mm lens covers 122°–46° horizontally and 64°–26° vertically, enough to watch a full lobby or retail floor in one view. At the wide end the camera can detect at 78.7 m (258.1 ft) and identify at 7.9 m (25.8 ft); at the tele end detect at 193.5 m (634.8 ft) and identify at 19.4 m (63.5 ft).

Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR

Minimum illumination is color 0.13 lux and B/W 0.03 lux at 50 IRE, F1.5 (4K 25/30 fps with Forensic WDR and Lightfinder 2.0), or color 0.05 lux with an optional F0.9 lens. Forensic WDR (up to 120 dB depending on scene) handles bright windows and dark corners in the same frame.

AI Analytics on the Edge

The ARTPEC-8 DLPU runs AXIS Object Analytics to detect and classify humans and vehicles in up to 10 scenarios, including line crossing, time in area, crossline counting and occupancy in area. AXIS Image Health Analytics warns of tampering or a degraded image, and AXIS Scene Metadata supports forensic search.

Axis Edge Vault Cybersecurity

Axis Edge Vault is a hardware-based cybersecurity platform with a secure element (CC EAL 6+), Axis device ID, secure keystore, signed video and secure boot. IEEE 802.1X, IEEE 802.1AR, HTTPS/HSTS and TLS v1.2/v1.3 secure the network connection.

The AXIS T91B21 Stand Black is in the box for wall or ceiling installation. Power the camera with PoE Class 3 (typical 4.61 W) or 10–28 V DC, and use the 2 supervised alarm inputs, 2 outputs and RS485/RS422 for integration. A leveling assistant and remote back focus speed up commissioning.
