AXIS P1387-B 5MP Indoor AI Box Camera, Barebone (No Lens), 02901-001
Description
AXIS P1387-B 5MP Barebone Indoor Box Camera with AI Analytics
The AXIS P1387-B is a 5MP indoor box camera sold as a barebone body: no lens and no stand in the box, so you can pair the 1/2.7″ sensor with the lens your scene calls for. It streams 2592x1944 at up to 50/60 fps, uses Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR for color and detail in tough light, and runs AXIS Object Analytics on an ARTPEC-8 deep learning processing unit with 2048 MB RAM. AXIS designed the lightweight unit to fit outdoor housings as well. Lens, stand, midspan and power supply are ordered separately.

Why Choose the AXIS P1387-B?
- 5 MP (2592x1944) barebone body for a lens of your choice
- 4:3 and 16:9 streams at up to 50/60 fps
- Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR up to 120 dB
- CS mount with i-CS connector for P-Iris and DC-iris lenses
- AXIS Object Analytics preinstalled on the ARTPEC-8 DLPU
- Axis Edge Vault: secure element (CC EAL 6+), signed video and secure boot
- Built-in microphone plus external mic/line input and speaker pairing
- PoE Class 3 or 10–28 V DC, 2 supervised inputs, 2 outputs and RS485/RS422
Barebone: Bring Your Own Lens
Unlike the AXIS P1387, which ships with a 2.8–13 mm lens and a stand, the P1387-B contains only the camera, installation guide, terminal block connectors and owner authentication key. That suits retrofit projects with existing CS-mount lenses, scenes that need a long or very fast lens, and integrators who build the camera into their own housing. The AXIS lens calculator helps size the optics.
5 MP Detail in Tough Light
The 1/2.7″ sensor delivers 2592x1944 in 4:3 or 2592x1458 in 16:9. With an F1.4 lens, minimum illumination is color 0.1 lux and B/W 0.02 lux at 50 IRE (5 MP 25/30 fps with Forensic WDR and Lightfinder 2.0), and an optional F0.9 lens lowers it to color 0.04 lux. Forensic WDR reaches up to 120 dB depending on scene.
Steady, Usable Images
Electronic image stabilization keeps video steady despite vibration, barrel distortion correction improves the image edges, and corridor format turns the view 90° for aisles, hallways and tunnels. Scene profiles (forensic, vivid, traffic overview) tune the image to the task.
Analytics and Cybersecurity
AXIS Object Analytics detects and classifies humans and vehicles in up to 10 scenarios, AXIS Image Health Analytics flags tampering or a degraded image, and AXIS Scene Metadata speeds forensic search. Axis Edge Vault is a hardware-based cybersecurity platform with a secure element (CC EAL 6+), Axis device ID, secure keystore, signed video and secure boot.
Installation
Power the camera over PoE IEEE 802.3af/802.3at Type 1 Class 3 (typical 4.24 W) or 10–28 V DC for redundant power. A ¼″-20 UNC thread fits a stand such as the AXIS T91B21, and a leveling assistant and remote back focus help aim and focus the view.
