Description

AXIS P1385-B 2MP Barebone Indoor Box Camera with AI Analytics

The AXIS P1385-B is the barebone version of the AXIS P1385: the same 2MP (HDTV 1080p) ARTPEC-8 box camera body, shipped without a lens and without a stand so you can fit exactly the optics the scene needs. The CS mount with i-CS connector takes P-Iris, DC-iris and i-CS lenses, Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR handle low light and backlight, and the deep learning processing unit runs AXIS Object Analytics on the edge. It is designed for indoor use or for installation inside an outdoor housing. Order a lens and a mount separately; a midspan or power supply is not included either.

Why Choose the AXIS P1385-B?

  • Barebone body: choose your own CS-mount, P-Iris, DC-iris or i-CS lens
  • Light 395 g (0.9 lb) unit that fits outdoor housings
  • HDTV 1080p at up to 50/60 fps (25/30 fps with Forensic WDR)
  • Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR up to 120 dB depending on scene
  • AXIS Object Analytics and AXIS Scene Metadata on the ARTPEC-8 DLPU
  • Axis Edge Vault with secure element (CC EAL 6+), signed video and secure boot
  • Built-in microphone (can be disabled), speaker pairing, 2 supervised inputs, 2 outputs and RS485/RS422
  • Low-power PoE Class 3 (max 9.31 W) or 10–28 V DC redundant power

What Barebone Means

AXIS ships the P1385-B without a lens and without the AXIS T91B21 stand that comes with the standard AXIS P1385. You get the camera, installation guide, terminal block connectors and owner authentication key. That makes it a fit for integrators who already stock lenses, need a telephoto or fast F0.9 lens, or are installing the camera in a third-party housing. Use the AXIS lens calculator to size the lens for the scene.

Image Quality in Low Light

The 1/2.8″ sensor streams HDTV 1080p with Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR. With an F1.4 lens, minimum illumination is color 0.05 lux and B/W 0.01 lux at 50 IRE (1080p 25/30 fps with Forensic WDR); with an optional F0.9 lens it drops to color 0.02 lux. Electronic image stabilization, barrel distortion correction and corridor format help in hallways and on structures that vibrate.

Analytics on the Edge

The ARTPEC-8 deep learning processing unit comes with AXIS Object Analytics preinstalled to detect and classify humans and vehicles (cars, buses, trucks, bikes, other) in up to 10 scenarios. AXIS Image Health Analytics flags blocked, redirected, blurred or underexposed images, and AXIS Scene Metadata adds object data for faster forensic search.

Edge Vault Cybersecurity

Axis Edge Vault is a hardware-based cybersecurity platform with a secure element (CC EAL 6+), Axis device ID, secure keystore, signed video and secure boot. Signed OS, brute force delay protection and the Axis Cryptographic Module (FIPS 140-2 level 1) protect the software side, and IEEE 802.1X, IEEE 802.1AR and TLS v1.2/v1.3 protect the network connection.

Connectivity and Power

Power comes from PoE IEEE 802.3af/802.3at Type 1 Class 3 (typical 2.97 W) or 10–28 V DC for redundancy. Two-way audio works with the built-in microphone, an external microphone or line input and speaker pairing, and a microSD slot with card encryption handles local recording.

Typical Applications

  • Office and bank interiors
  • Retail entrances
  • Corridors and tunnels (corridor format)
  • Installations inside third-party outdoor housings
  • Scenes that need a specialist lens
