AXIS P1378 4K Indoor Box Camera

The AXIS P1378 is an 8MP indoor box camera with Lightfinder and Forensic WDR for usable color video in difficult light. Built on ARTPEC-7 with a machine learning processing unit, it runs AXIS Object Analytics to detect and classify humans and vehicles. An exchangeable CS-mount varifocal lens with i-CS support, electronic image stabilization, Axis Zipstream for H.264 and H.265, signed firmware and secure boot make it a dependable choice for entrances and open areas in offices, banks, hotels and retail stores.

Sharp Video in Demanding Light

Lightfinder and Forensic WDR (up to 120 dB depending on scene) keep colors and details visible when bright and dark areas share the frame. Minimum illumination is color 0.15 lux and B/W 0.03 lux at 50 IRE, F1.5 (4K 25/30 fps with Forensic WDR and Lightfinder).

Exchangeable Lens for Any Scene

The 1/1.8″ sensor streams 4K (3840x2160) at 25/30 fps in all resolutions. The supplied varifocal lens (3.9–10 mm, F1.5, P-Iris) has a horizontal field of view of 119°–45°, and the CS mount lets you switch to a wider, longer or i-CS lens as the scene changes. Corridor Format suits tall, narrow views such as hallways and aisles, and electronic image stabilization keeps video steady when the camera is exposed to vibration.

Analytics on the Edge

The ARTPEC-7 machine learning processing unit runs AXIS Object Analytics to detect and classify humans and vehicles, with line crossing, object in area, crossline counting and time in area scenarios (up to 10 scenarios). AXIS Video Motion Detection and AXIS Live Privacy Shield (available for download) are included, and AXIS Camera Application Platform supports third-party apps.

Built-In Cybersecurity

Signed OS and secure boot ensure only authorized AXIS OS is installed, and SD card encryption (AES-XTS-Plain64 256bit) protects local recordings. Network security includes IEEE 802.1X, IEEE 802.1AE (MACsec), HTTPS/HSTS, TLS v1.2/v1.3 and a host-based firewall.

Flexible Installation

Power the camera over PoE (IEEE 802.3af/802.3at Type 1 Class 3) or from 12–28 V DC. A camera stand and connector kit are included, and the I/O terminal block provides 2 supervised alarm inputs and 2 outputs plus RS485/RS422. For outdoor use, AXIS lists the AXIS TQ1809-LE Housing T92G as an optional accessory.
