2N Access Unit M 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz RFID Reader – Two RFID Frequencies, Built-In Controller

The 2N Access Unit M 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz RFID Reader (02910-001) is a slim 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz RFID reader with a built-in door controller, in a tempered glass and rugged plastic body. This version of the slim Access Unit M reads both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz cards, so a door-frame installation does not force a card swap. The controller is built in and the unit comes with a roughly 3 m Ethernet pigtail. It runs on PoE or 12 V DC and is rated IP55 and IK7.

Built for Door Frames

At 1.97 x 5.24 x 1.06 in the unit is much narrower than a standard Access Unit 2.0, and 2N shows it installed in a door frame with the Ethernet pigtail pulled up to the ceiling. For walls, flush and surface installation boxes are available (the 2N documents list the boxes as 02940-001 flush and 02932-001 surface).

Credentials This Version Reads

The 125 kHz side reads EM4x02 cards. The 13.56 MHz side reads ISO14443A, ISO14443B, PicoPass (HID iClass CSN), FeliCa and ST SR cards plus 2N PICard credentials, with MIFARE DESFire read by CSN only; NFC phone credentials use the My2N app.

Door Control I/O

The unit switches a lock through a passive NO/NC contact rated 30 V, 1 A AC/DC or an active 8-12 V DC output of up to 600 mA, accepts two inputs for an exit button and door contact, and has a built-in tamper switch.
