2N Access Unit 2.0 Multi-Frequency Secured RFID Reader – 125 kHz and Secured 13.56 MHz in One Reader

The 2N Access Unit 2.0 Multi-Frequency Secured RFID Reader (02146-001) is a multi-frequency secured RFID reader with a built-in door controller from the 2N Access Unit 2.0 family. Where a building has both older 125 kHz fobs and newer secured 13.56 MHz cards, this 2N Access Unit 2.0 reads both in a single reader. It also covers HID PAC credentials on the secured 13.56 MHz side, and its built-in controller lets one network cable run the whole door. It runs on PoE or a 12 V DC supply and mounts flush or on the surface in a nickel or black zinc frame.

Reader and Controller in One Housing

Instead of a reader that depends on a separate controller box, the Access Unit 2.0 carries the controller inside. You wire the lock, exit button and door contact to it and connect it to the IP network. For a door that needs more, 2N IP Verso extension modules such as an I/O module, Wiegand module or additional reader modules can be added to the unit.

Credentials This Version Reads

The 125 kHz side reads EM4x02 cards. The secured 13.56 MHz side reads the same formats and adds HID PAC credentials (HID SEOS, iClass SE, iClass SR, and HID MIFARE DESFire or Classic with SIO), which 2N describes as reading the PACS ID. NFC phone credentials work through the My2N app, which 2N documents as an Android-only licensed function.

Mounting and Installation

Choose a flush frame, which protrudes about 5 mm from the wall, or a surface frame. Adhesive mounting on glass is also listed. Single-module frame sizes are 107 x 130 x 28 mm for surface mounting and 130 x 153 x 5 mm for flush mounting, and the flush box needs a minimum hole of 108 x 131 x 45 mm.
