Retrofit Without Re-Wiring
2N designed the Clip 2wire-IP for projects with legacy 2-wire infrastructure. The station connects to the existing cable (2N recommends one pair of Cat3 or better, 24 AWG, and advises checking the condition of old cabling first), and installation consists of drilling two screws, connecting the wires and clipping the unit to the wall.
The 2wire-IP Switch
Network access comes from the 2N Clip 2wire-IP Switch (03450-001), listed by 2N as an accessory and in our product data as required. Each switch has six powered 2wire-IP ports, so one switch can serve six indoor stations, and switches can be chained to cover more floors. The switch needs its own 48 V DC / 1.92 A supply, such as the 2N power supply 03479-001.
Video, Audio and Signalling
The station plays H.264 video at 480 x 272 at up to 15 fps, with audio in G.711a/u, G.722, G.729 and L16/16 kHz. Signalling is SIP over UDP, TCP or TLS. The induction loop is optional; order 03449-001 for the version with a built-in loop.
Power and Environment
Power consumption in the 2N manual ranges from 1.2 W in stand-by with the display off to 4.4 W during calls with audio (6.4 W with the induction loop). Operating temperature is 32 °F to 122 °F at 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity.
