Why Choose the Lenel LNL-M4420?

  • More than 1,000,000 cardholders, depending on configuration
  • Two doors on board and up to 64 devices on two RS-485 ports
  • 500,000-event log with super-capacitor backup
  • BACnet interface with up to 63 points for building automation
  • OSDP Secure Channel and AES-256 to Series 3 modules
  • Optional onboard FIPS-201 authentication with HID pivCLASS or EntryPoint
  • Schlage PIM-400 and ASSA ABLOY Aperio wireless lock support
  • Elevator control for up to 128 floors

Enterprise Capacity

The LNL-M4420 stores more than 1,000,000 cardholders in up to 96 MB of flash, depending on configuration, with selective download for larger databases. It keeps 500,000 events in super-capacitor-backed memory and supports 16 card formats, 32,000 access levels (255 per badge) and elevator control for up to 128 floors.

Two Doors On Board, 64 Doors in Total

Two reader ports, eight supervised inputs and four Form-C relays run two doors directly. Two downstream RS-485 ports add up to 64 devices, including LNL-1100, LNL-1200, LNL-1300 and LNL-1320 modules, Schlage PIM-400 wireless interfaces (OnGuard 7.5 and higher) and ASSA ABLOY Aperio wireless devices.

BACnet Building Integration

Through OnGuard, up to 63 BACnet points can be defined as a mix of physical inputs and virtual outputs. A BACnet client can set and read the virtual outputs, giving two-way state exchange with HVAC, lighting and other building systems.

Cybersecurity and Credentials

TLS 1.2/1.3 to OnGuard, AES-256 to LenelS2 Series 3 reader and I/O modules (AES-128 for Series 2), OSDP Secure Channel and an optional data-at-rest encryption setting. Optional onboard FIPS-201 authentication is available with HID pivCLASS or Technology Industries EntryPoint, and biometric templates (ANSI/INCITS 378) can be stored on the controller.

Readers and Power

Reader ports support Data1/Data0, Clock/Data, unsupervised F2F and OSDP RS-485 readers and keypads, with up to 600 mA per reader. The board runs from 12 to 24 VDC ± 10% at 550 mA plus reader current.

Typical Applications

  • Enterprise headquarters and multi-building campuses
  • Hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Government sites using PIV and FIPS-201 credentials
  • Buildings integrating access control with BACnet systems
  • Large panels with up to 64 doors per controller
