Description

Lenel LNL-M2220 Intelligent Dual Reader Controller for OnGuard

The Lenel LNL-M2220 Intelligent Dual Reader Controller is a single-board M-Series controller that runs one or two doors directly and connects to the OnGuard server over Ethernet. Its downstream RS-485 port adds up to 32 more devices for a maximum of 64 doors, so a one-door install can grow without replacing the panel. It stores 250,000 cardholders and 500,000 events, and supports ASSA ABLOY Aperio, Schlage AD400/Engage and SimonsVoss wireless locks.

Why Choose the Lenel LNL-M2220?

  • Runs one or two doors on a single board
  • Grows to 64 doors with downstream RS-485 modules
  • 250,000 cardholders and a 500,000-event log on board
  • Keeps local functions running if the OnGuard server connection is lost
  • Secure 32-bit processor with TLS 1.2/1.3 to OnGuard
  • OSDP readers with Secure Channel and biometric template support
  • Wireless lock support for ASSA ABLOY Aperio, Schlage AD400/Engage and SimonsVoss
  • Elevator control for up to 128 floors

Two Doors on One Board

Two on-board reader ports, eight supervised inputs and four relays give the LNL-M2220 everything needed for two doors with door contacts, request-to-exit devices and lock control, plus two dedicated inputs for cabinet tamper and UPS fault monitoring.

Readers and Credentials

Each reader port supports Data1/Data0 (Wiegand), Clock/Data, supervised and unsupervised F2F, biometric readers and bi-directional OSDP over RS-485, including OSDP biometric template transfer and Secure Channel encryption. Reader ports supply up to 600 mA each, and a jumper selects regulated 12 VDC or pass-through power.

Expansion to 64 Doors

The downstream RS-485 two-wire port connects up to 32 LenelS2 devices, such as LNL-1300 and LNL-1320 reader interface modules and LNL-1100 and LNL-1200 I/O modules, for a maximum of 64 doors from one controller.

Capacity and Local Operation

Up to 250,000 cardholders are stored in 6 MB of flash, with selective download for larger databases, and 500,000 events are kept in super-capacitor-backed memory. The controller supports 16 card formats, 32,000 access levels and elevator control for up to 128 floors, and nearly all local functions continue if the server connection is lost.

Cybersecurity

A secure 32-bit processor, TLS 1.2/1.3 to OnGuard, AES-256 to LenelS2 Series 3 modules (AES-128 for Series 2), an optional data-at-rest encryption setting and background firmware download.

Typical Applications

  • Building entrances with in and out readers
  • Two-door suites, labs and offices
  • Sites that start small and add doors later
  • Wireless lock deployments with Aperio, Schlage or SimonsVoss
  • Elevator access control
