The AXIS P3228-LVE is a 8 MP (4K) outdoor fixed dome with Forensic WDR, Lightfinder and OptimizedIR for clear video in any light. A varifocal 3.5–10 mm P-Iris lens with remote zoom and focus simplifies aiming, Axis Zipstream reduces bandwidth and storage for H.264 video, and the IP66- and NEMA 4X-rated, IK10 impact-resistant casing with a weathershield is powered over a single PoE cable. Built-in AXIS Motion Guard, AXIS Fence Guard and AXIS Loitering Guard add motion-based alerts for entrances, building perimeters and parking areas.

Forensic WDR (up to 120 dB depending on scene) holds detail when bright and dark areas share the frame, and Lightfinder keeps color in low light. In complete darkness, OptimizedIR with power-efficient 850 nm LEDs lights the scene up to 30 m (100 ft) or more. Minimum illumination is 0.19 lux in color and 0.04 lux in black and white, and 0 lux with IR on.

Flexible Coverage and Resolution

The 8 MP (4K) sensor streams up to 3840x2160 at 25/30 fps, and the varifocal 3.5–10 mm lens covers 100° to 38° horizontally. Up to 8 individually cropped view areas can be streamed from one camera, with digital PTZ, preset positions and Corridor Format for tall, narrow scenes.

Built-In Analytics

AXIS Motion Guard, AXIS Fence Guard and AXIS Loitering Guard are included, along with AXIS Video Motion Detection and active tampering alarm. The camera supports AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) for third-party applications, and events can record to an SD card or network share, upload clips, or send email, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP and SNMP notifications.

Network Security and Integration

SD card encryption (AES-XTS-Plain64 256-bit) protects local recordings, and the camera supports HTTPS, TLS, SSH and secure syslog. ONVIF Profile G, M, S and T, the VAPIX open API and SIP support make it easy to integrate with AXIS Camera Station and partner VMS platforms.
