AXIS M5526-E PTZ Camera – 4 MP Indoor/Outdoor PTZ with 10x Optical Zoom and AI Analytics
The AXIS M5526-E is a compact 4 MP PTZ camera with 10x optical zoom, continuous 360° pan and autofocus, for both indoor and outdoor installations. Built on ARTPEC-8 with a deep learning processing unit, it runs AXIS Object Analytics to detect and classify humans and vehicle types, while Forensic WDR, Lightfinder 2.0 and Axis Edge Vault cybersecurity keep video clear and the device protected. An IP66- and IK09-rated casing, audio and four I/O ports make it a fit for entrances, parking areas and campuses.

Wide Overviews and Zoomed-In Detail
The 4.7–47 mm lens gives a 59.1°–6.5° horizontal field of view with 10x optical and 12x digital zoom (120x total). Continuous 360° pan and 0°–90° tilt at up to 150°/s, 100 preset positions, a limited guard tour and focus recall let operators move from a full-scene overview to close detail quickly.
Clear Video Day and Night
Forensic WDR (up to 120 dB depending on scene) handles scenes with both bright and dark areas, and Lightfinder 2.0 keeps color down to 0.20 lux at 30 IRE. Day/night functionality with an automatic IR-cut filter delivers black-and-white video down to 0.01 lux. Three scene profiles (indoor, outdoor and forensic) tune image settings to the location.
AI-Based Analytics at the Edge
AXIS Object Analytics detects and classifies humans and vehicles (cars, buses, trucks, bikes and other) with line crossing, object in area, time in area, crossline counting and occupancy in area scenarios. AXIS Scene Metadata, AXIS Video Motion Detection, active tampering alarm, audio detection and gatekeeper are also included, and AXIS People Counter is supported.
Built-In Cybersecurity
Axis Edge Vault, the hardware-based cybersecurity platform, provides a secure element (CC EAL 6+), Axis device ID, secure keystore, signed video, secure boot and an encrypted filesystem. The Axis Cryptographic Module is FIPS 140-2 level 1 validated, and IEEE 802.1X, IEEE 802.1AE (MACsec), HTTPS/HSTS and TLS v1.2/v1.3 protect the network connection.
Flexible Indoor and Outdoor Installation
The IP66- and IK09-rated casing operates from -20 °C to 50 °C (-4 °F to 122 °F) and is compatible with all Axis PTZ mounts. Axis Zipstream in H.264 and H.265 lowers bandwidth and storage, and audio and I/O connectivity let you add a microphone, speaker or alarm devices.
