Description

AXIS P3408-VE Dome Camera – 4K (8 MP) Outdoor AI Dome with Remote PTRZ and PoE Out

The AXIS P3408-VE brings 4K (3840x2160) detail and a long 4.4–14.6 mm varifocal lens to an outdoor dome that is aimed, leveled and zoomed remotely. Its larger 1/1.8" sensor with Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR keeps color in poor light, and ARTPEC-9 runs AXIS Object Analytics alongside AXIS Audio Analytics from a built-in acoustic sensor. A PoE out port can power a second device, and the IP66-, NEMA 4X- and IK10-rated casing is secured by Axis Edge Vault, making it a fit for wide plazas, lots and building exteriors that need fine detail.

4K Detail Across Wide or Distant Scenes

At 3840x2160 the AXIS P3408-VE captures fine detail over a 104° wide view or zooms to 29° to reach farther. Per the Axis DORI calculation it can identify at 8.8 m (28.9 ft) wide and 29.2 m (95.8 ft) tele, and detect at up to 292 m (958 ft) at tele.

Remote PTRZ Installation

Pan ±180°, tilt -40 to +75° and rotation ±95° are all adjustable remotely, together with zoom and focus, so the view can be set or changed without a site visit. The mechanism is designed for at least 300 full movement cycles, and a pixel counter and level grid assist setup.

Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR

The 1/1.8" sensor keeps color down to 0.11 lux (0.03 lux in black and white) and Forensic WDR, up to 120 dB depending on scene, balances bright and dark areas. The camera has no built-in IR, so plan for some ambient or site light at night; electronic image stabilization and defog keep the image steady and clear.

AI Video and Audio Analytics

ARTPEC-9 runs AXIS Object Analytics for humans and vehicle types with up to 10 scenarios such as line crossing, occupancy, crossline counting and tailgating detection, plus AXIS Scene Metadata for forensic search. The acoustic sensor drives AXIS Audio Analytics to classify screams, shouts, glass break, speech and coughing fits, and AXIS Image Health Analytics alerts when the image is blocked or degraded.

PoE Out, Zipstream and Edge Vault

Class 4 PoE in and a Class 3 PoE output let one cable feed this camera and an extra device. Axis Zipstream in AV1, H.265 and H.264 reduces 4K bandwidth and storage, and Axis Edge Vault (CC EAL 6+, FIPS 140-3 Level 3 secure element, signed video, secure boot, encrypted filesystem) protects the device.
