Description
AXIS XC1311 Explosion-Protected Network Horn Speaker – Class I Div 1 / Zone 1 Certified
The AXIS XC1311 is an explosion-protected network horn speaker certified worldwide for hazardous locations, delivering over 110 dB of clear voice to personnel in Class I Division 1, Zone 1 and Zone 21 areas. A re-entrant horn with compression driver, 7 W Class D amplifier and pre-configured DSP make it a complete audio system on a single PoE cable, with AXIS Audio Manager Edge built in. Its IP66/IP67 and NEMA 4X aluminum enclosure operates from -40 °C to 60 °C, suiting oil and gas, chemical, mining and processing sites.

Why Choose the AXIS XC1311?
- Certified for gas (Class I Div 1, Zone 1 IIC) and dust (Zone 21 IIIC) areas
- ATEX, IECEx, cULus, INMETRO, JPEx and more worldwide markings
- Over 110 dB of focused voice for noisy industrial environments
- All-in-one: amplifier, DSP and audio management on the device
- Single PoE cable for power and network, no separate audio network
- Remote health testing and event-triggered pre-recorded messages
- Included bracket for wall or ceiling mounting
- TAA compliant supply chain and Axis Edge Vault cybersecurity
Built for Hazardous Locations
The XC1311 carries flameproof (Ex db) and dust ignition protection by enclosure (Ex tb) certification, with ATEX II 2 G / II 2 D, IECEx and cULus Class I Div 1 markings, so it can be installed in potentially combustible gas and dust atmospheres. The red RAL 3000 aluminum housing is IP66, IP67 and NEMA 4X rated and handles condensing humidity from -40 °C to 60 °C.
Clear Messages Over Industrial Noise
A re-entrant horn with compression driver concentrates over 110 dB into a 54° pattern, and the built-in DSP keeps speech intelligible over long distances and loud machinery. Play scheduled safety announcements, let a camera with analytics trigger a pre-recorded warning when it detects smoke or missing protective equipment, or have an operator speak live to the scene.
Smart, Stand-Alone Network Audio
The speaker connects to a standard IP network and needs no extra hardware or software. AXIS Audio Manager Edge comes preinstalled for zones, content priority and user permissions, and remote health testing confirms it works without a trip into the hazardous area. It integrates with AXIS Camera Station, partner VMS, SIP telephony and mass notification systems such as Singlewire InformaCast and Alertus.
Installation
The included bracket supports wall and ceiling mounting, and the housing has two M20 and one 1/2-inch NPT cable side entries. Pair it with the AXIS Ex Connection Rail 8-port PoE++ for power and connectivity and the AXIS TQ1301-E Pole Mount or Pole Mount ExCam XF for poles. Installation must follow the certificate conditions and local hazardous-area codes.
Typical Applications
- Oil and gas facilities and refineries
- Chemical and pharmaceutical plants
- Grain handling, food and dust-prone processing
- Mining and wastewater treatment
- Fuel depots and marine terminals
