Pelco SPDE8-2X30-PD0 Spectra Enhanced 8 PTZ Camera

The Pelco Spectra Enhanced 8 PTZ Camera is an advanced pan, tilt, and zoom surveillance solution designed to help security teams monitor expansive areas with greater visibility and intelligent automation. Available in 2MP and 4MP configurations, the Spectra Enhanced 8 combines 30X enhanced optical zoom, 360-degree continuous pan, advanced Smart Analytics, secure network integration, and flexible installation options.

Designed for large-area surveillance, the Spectra Enhanced 8 can provide broad coverage while helping organizations reduce blind spots and the number of cameras required for certain applications. Operators can remotely pan, tilt, and zoom across the camera's field of view, while auto tracking and direct drive technology support precise monitoring of moving objects.

30X Enhanced Optical Zoom and 360° Continuous Pan

The Pelco Spectra Enhanced 8 provides 30X enhanced optical zoom with a 6.5 mm to 162.5 mm focal length range. Its 360° continuous pan range and 95° tilt range enable operators to monitor large areas and quickly investigate activity from a centralized security operations center.

The PTZ camera provides configurable pan and tilt presets, tours, digital zoom, electronic image stabilization, digital defog, and 3D noise reduction. Pan speed can reach up to 900° per second and tilt speed up to 300° per second when used with IEEE 802.3bt Type 4, Class 8 power. Lower power sources may reduce available pan, tilt, and environmental performance.

Available in 2MP and 4MP Resolutions

The Spectra Enhanced 8 is available in both 2MP and 4MP models. The 2MP version provides 1920 × 1080 active pixels, while the 4MP version provides 2560 × 1440 active pixels. Both models use a 1/1.8-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor and support a 16:9 aspect ratio.

With WDR enabled, the camera supports up to 122 dB of dynamic range using dual exposure at 30 fps. This helps improve visibility in scenes containing both bright and dark areas. The camera also supports automatic or manual day/night control, white balance, iris, electronic shutter, backlight compensation, digital defog, and electronic image stabilization.

Smart Analytics for Automated Security Insights

The Pelco Spectra Enhanced 8 includes Smart Analytics powered by Motorola Solutions to help identify important human and vehicle events. Analytics can provide automated event notifications when defined conditions occur within the camera's field of view.

Supported analytics events include objects in area, object loitering, objects crossing a beam, objects appearing or entering an area, objects not present in an area, objects entering or leaving an area, object stopping in an area, objects too close, direction violations, Smart Motion Rule events, tamper detection, and motion detection.

The camera supports classified object detection for vehicles and people in outdoor mode, including cars, trucks, bicycles, motorcycles, and buses. Indoor mode supports person classification.

Secure Integration with Video Management Systems

The Spectra Enhanced 8 is designed as an open network surveillance platform. It supports ONVIF Profiles S, G, T, and M for integration with compatible video management systems and existing ONVIF infrastructures.

Network connectivity includes 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T Ethernet with Auto MDI/MDI-X speed detection. The camera supports IPv4 and IPv6 networking along with HTTP, HTTPS, RTSP, RTP, RTCP, TCP, UDP, IGMP, ICMP, DHCP, NTP, DNS, HSTS, NTCIP, and other network protocols.

Advanced Cybersecurity Features

The Pelco Spectra Enhanced 8 incorporates multiple security technologies designed to help protect both camera access and network communications. Security features include HTTPS encryption, digest authentication, WS authentication, user access logging, 802.1X port-based authentication, secure boot, and signed and encrypted firmware.

The camera includes an onboard FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified TPM and supports CC EAL6+ security. FIPS 140-2 Level 1 cryptographic modules can be enabled with the optional CAM-FIPS camera license.

Flexible Power and Redundant Operation

The Spectra Enhanced 8 supports IEEE 802.3at Type 2, Class 4 PoE and, depending on the configuration, IEEE 802.3bt Type 3, Class 6 and Type 4, Class 8 power. Auxiliary 24 VDC/VAC power is also supported.

Redundant power enables seamless failover between PoE and auxiliary power without interrupting camera operation. The camera includes 4GB of RAM and 4GB of flash memory, along with two microSD/microSDHC/microSDXC storage slots. A video speed class card is required, with Class V10 or better recommended.

In-Ceiling and Pendant Mounting Options

The Spectra Enhanced 8 is available in both in-ceiling and pendant configurations. The in-ceiling versions are designed for recessed installations, while pendant models support outdoor-oriented deployments and compatible mounting accessories.

Depending on the model and power configuration, environmental operating temperatures can extend from -51°C to +60°C (-59.8°F to +140°F). Pendant configurations support IP66 and IP67 protection, IK10 enclosure impact protection, IK09 bubble protection, and Type 4X protection.
