AXIS A1610 Network Door Controller – 2 Doors, 4 Readers, PoE+ Powered
The AXIS A1610 is an edge-based network door controller that runs two doors from a single PoE+ cable, with four OSDP reader connections and two Form C relays that power the locks directly. It keeps up to 250,000 credentials and 250,000 events on board, so doors keep working even when the network is down, and its aluminum casing operates from -40 °C to 55 °C. Axis Edge Vault protects its identity and keys, making it a solid choice for schools, offices and multi-tenant buildings that want scalable, IP-based access control.

Two Doors From One PoE+ Cable
Two Form C relays (NO/NC, max 2 A at 30 V DC) and two jumper-selectable 12/24 V DC lock outputs let the AXIS A1610 power both locks on board. With PoE+ it supplies up to 900 mA at 12 V DC to the locks in total; with a 10.5-28 V DC supply that rises to 1800 mA at 12 V DC. A 12 V DC battery backup input is also provided.
Flexible Readers and Credentials
Connect up to four OSDP readers or two Wiegand readers, or up to 16 AXIS A4612 Network Bluetooth Readers. Supported credentials include cards and PIN codes, dynamic QR codes for visitor access and license plate recognition for vehicle access. Up to 16 ASSA ABLOY Aperio wireless locks can be integrated through the AH30 Communication Hub.
I/O, Alarms and Elevator Control
Six configurable auxiliary and external I/O ports connect glass-break, intrusion and emergency sensors or other security systems, and supervised inputs with programmable end-of-line resistors monitor door position sensors and REX buttons. Paired with the AXIS A9910 I/O Relay Expansion Module, the A1610 supports elevator control for up to 16 floors.
Built-In Cybersecurity
Axis Edge Vault protects the Axis device ID and stores cryptographic keys, such as the OSDP Secure Channel key, in a CC EAL6+ certified secure keystore. Signed firmware, secure boot, HTTPS, IEEE 802.1X network access control and brute force delay protection round out the device security, and tamper detection covers cover removal, reader tamper, tilting and vibration.
Installation
The AXIS A1610 mounts on a wall or a DIN rail, and its plenum rating lets it go above drop ceilings without an extra installation cabinet. Detachable, color-coded terminal blocks speed up wiring, and the controller ships with mating connectors, a grounding kit and cable ties. Need to install it in your own cabinet? The barebone AXIS A1610-B is sold without a top cover.
